I don't suggest the "no spark" resistor for the MMM -- for a few reasons. First, the resistors that are suggested are WAY too big. They can cause the beeps (during startup) to cause a boost (with the motor inductance) that creates voltage spikes -- without the battery there to absorb them. -- So if you plug in through the resistor, the caps charge fully, then the ESC beeps the motor -- can cause enough of a "boost" spike to damage some of the more voltage sensitive parts.
Even just the brake turning on (which happens on power-up for safety reasons) can also cause a "boost" spike -- So to be safe, just say no to the resistor.
Patrick

We've found that a 1 ohm resistor works quite well, and allows Auto-Lipo to work correctly.

Using a high ohm resistor can easily damage the ESC. Spark arrestors circuits are only to protect plugs, they are no good for the ESC. If you use a 1 ohm resistor you will reduce the spark and minimize potential damage to the ESC. HIGHER OHM RESISTORS ARE NOT SAFE FOR THE ESC. If you blow up an ESC with a higher ohm resistor it is out of warranty, it is really that simple.
