I fly at Segar Field, it is around bukit panjang area. Yup, we have quite a number of empty fields, but many of them are either too close to HDB estates or too small for nitro birds. No, I haven't been to any Malaysia flying field, but I do go across the causeway quite often.

I love Singapore! Got lots of hobby shop in Singapore. and it has a lot of empty land that can fly heli. amazingly singapore is just a small island. btw where do fly in singapore? Ikea? have you ever visit malaysia flying field?

I am from singapore. Sorry, I can read chinese quite ok, but I can't write too well.

It is true that you need a licence to operate a r/c heli in singapore, but it is not one for the heli, but a radio licence for the controller. Basically, what happens is that you have to pay a certain amount of money a year for operation of any devices that operates on radio waves, including car stero sets, home tv and radio etc...

It is ok to fly anywhere in Singapore, not just at registered flying field, but of course, housings and people in the vincinity should be taken account of. The most important part is to not disturb the nearby residents and to not pose any danger to the passerbys. Singapore is just a densely populated island, so it is not easy to find a open field that is far away from any settlement. As such, we don't have many suitable field for flying.

The prices in Singapore are quite expensive, so many flyers actually buy their r/c stuff online. From what I know, prices in Malaysia is EVEN MORE expensive.
